Is your scalp micro-pigmentation procedure considered a tattoo?

No, it is not. Everything from the machine, gun, needle and ink are all different than those used to produce standard tattoos.

Can a tattoo artist perform this same procedure?

No. A scalp micro-pigmentation specialist is trained differently and uses different tools and techniques than a tattoo artist. Since a tattoo artist uses larger needles and penetrates the skin deeper with ink that has blue or green dyes in it you can end up with larger and unnatural dots that appear to be blue or green. Getting the scalp micro-pigmentation procedure done by a tattoo artist should never be considered as an option.

Is your scalp micro-pigmentation procedure considered a medical procedure?

No, the scalp micro-pigmentation procedure is not medically defined.

Is your scalp micro-pigmentation procedure considered safe?

Yes, our scalp micro-pigmentation procedure is safe. We use sterile equipment and a brand new needle that is opened in the presence of the client before each treatment has begun, and then disposed of at the end of the treatment. Our stations are sterilized before and after each session, and we meet all health and safety guidelines.

Is your scalp micro-pigmentation procedure painful?

Pain levels are subjective. They vary from one person to the next. Most people compare the scalp micro-pigmentation procedure to the sensation of being pinched. Immediately following cessation of the procedure there is no lasting pain. There is no use of anesthesia for this type of procedure.

Can the scalp micro-pigmentation procedure produce a soft & natural-looking hairline?

Yes. We can replicate any hairline suitable to your liking. We can give you a soft and feathered look, or a sharper image similar to a “shape-up” that you’d get at a barber shop. Your scalp restoration specialist (SRS) will take as much time as necessary DRAWING the desired hairline on you before applying the pigment to ensure that you’re happy with the final outcome.

Can I grow out my hair after the scalp micro-pigmentation procedure?

Yes. Letting your hair grow out a bit can also add to the illusion of a fuller head of hair. Your scalp pigmentation specialist will discuss the appropriate length based on your balding pattern and existing hair density prior to undergoing the procedure.

Do I need to continue to use a concealer after the scalp micro-pigmentation procedure?

The scalp micro-pigmentation procedure essentially acts as a permanent concealer, eliminating the need to apply your own product. You will no longer need to use a messy concealer that tends to drip if you jump in a pool, get caught in the rain, or break a sweat.

I have gray hair. Can scalp micro-pigmentation work for me?

Yes. We can match any hair color but our clients have the choice of whether or not they want more salt or more pepper.

If I experience hair loss after the scalp micro-pigmentation procedure will the appearance of my scalp treatment continue to look natural?

Yes. The scalp micro-pigmentation procedure involves a blending process that takes the treatment into the areas where you have hair growth so as to avoid the treatment from looking like it abruptly stops where your hair loss begins. This accounts for some future minor hair loss, and maintains a natural and seamless look.

Am I still a candidate for the scalp micro-pigmentation procedure if I have undergone or intend to undergo a hair transplant?

The scalp micro-pigmentation procedure is natural, and will not affect the implanted grafts from a hair transplant.

Does the scalp micro-pigmentation procedure fade over time?

The scalp micro-pigmentation procedure will produce results that generally last up to five years. Clients sometimes experience lightening of the scalp area, but the pigmentation will not disappear completely. A periodic touch-up is recommended for those who are exposed to sun, weather, skin conditions, or simply want a bolder look.

Does your scalp micro-pigmentation procedure leave blotches that run together over time?

No. Blotching, or migration of ink, only occurs with standard tattoo practices because of the use of larger needles that penetrate deeper into the skin, and the type of ink utilized; this can also occur if a practitioner is inexperienced. The scalp micro-pigmentation procedure follows a different process altogether, using smaller and finer needles and organic ink, which doesn’t have the capability of migrating.

Can I try out the scalp micro-pigmentation procedure on a small test area before I fully commit?

Yes. We are able to apply our scalp micro-pigmentation procedure to small scarred areas or places on the scalp where hair loss is prevalent so that you can see the effectiveness of the treatment.

Is your scalp micro-pigmentation procedure completed in one visit?

Yes! We know that more time spent with the client in each session would mean fewer sessions for the client which is why we are one of the few companies that can complete a full procedure in one session. It can take a 2nd session depending on the severity of your hair loss and desired density. None of our clients ever need 3 sessions.

Can the scalp micro-pigmentation procedure be applied to add shape and fullness to a beard?

Yes. The same technique used on the scalp can also be used for a beard to cover scars, fill sparse areas, and give it a sharp look.
